I need to know where all the Stryker bragades are. I will be going into the Army in May and think that I might be a Stryker mech.

Almost 6 years now in the Delaware Army National Gaurd. A lot of it has been full time though, but i've been on as a 74b and that was coverted to a 25b. Pretty much we're the data dorks as every grunt calls us. If any of you guys have any Signal questions, let me know.

What group and years were you at Bragg? We may know some of the same guys.

A buddy of mine back in the day was at bragg for a few years, he was a CPT then. Only time I ever got to Bragg was visiting him in the summer :( was originally signed up to do the 82nd and all that, but then they 'asked' me to do the Old Guard. Ugh. Would have rather gone to Bragg now that I know!

I know I'm not Army, but I just had to post how ridiculously small the military community is. Even across the different branches, I sometimes run into people I met on a deployment or somewhere. Crazy...

This is so true I run into ppl over here that I knew in basic. When I was re-deploying back to the states from Iraq I saw some of my old platoon.

Hi yall, great site!!! (short introduction follows)
Me-21
Occupation: Engine Builder/Cyl Head development(until the army)
Past Jobs: Ran Top Fuel in NHRA and IHRA with Foley/Lewis-Clutch, enigne building, tuning, and everything else.
Raced and Maintained MarineTech SUPER-V and P-3 on APBA national tour
Consultant for certain pro-stock engine program
Dick around with every kind of race car imaginable.
Anyways, to my question- Im giving all the racing up to join the Army. Ive got a million questions:
How tough is basic? Some have said its stupid easy, and other say it is HELL.
Is it a bad idea to tryout for the Special Forces?
Should I just get a tech job? (I really want to fight) My ASVAB score is high, but I have signed no paperwork. I will try to leave at the beginning of march, but I want to have the most knowledge to make the best decisions possible.
Thanks in advance for your responses.

If you REALLY want to fight, go to SF. You're going to get all you can handle in todays world.
Be careful what you wish for though, cause you just might get it. LOL.
Good luck to you. 8)

What MOS are you going into? basic to me was FUN. I was in 11B basic (Infantry) and we did cool shit almost every day. You get to work out, blow shit up, and then, for me at least, jump out of an airplane at the end.

Thanks for the responses. I mistated earlier, I will never give up racing, just put it aside for the time being. I have not picked an MOS but my top 3 choices are SF, machinist, metal fabricator.

Whats up doggies. I know chris know who I am but not a hole lot about me. Any way been in the Marines for almost 11 years now and will be going in the Army this summer. If all works as planed as a 915A light wheeled vehicle tech. If that doent pan out ill be a Stryker mech most likly. I have no planes to role in as the big bad Marine cause thats not my style. Any sugestions on what to expect with the change?
