i want one. id like to think im a responsible person when it comes to guns, so im allowing myself to think these thoughts. before i joined the af, there were some guys at work who bought 3 from a guy who i guess imports them. they were cheap, wich is why i want one. their deal was an ak with 2 magazines for 175.00 and i think they were "russian" ak's
so i really want an m4 or a m16, but those are way to expensive. id like to have atleast one gun, and i think the ak fits the ticket. are these things sold locally at gun shows and whatnot? are they really as cheap as ive said? who has experience on this?

I've never seen a quality AK that cheap. My father in law has a full auto AK that he brought back from Vietnam in a guitar case. Pulled it straight off a dead NVA. That fucker is bad ass.

I'm not 100% sure, but you'd be lucky to find a good condition SKS for 175 bucks. And for a full auto you'd need a class 3 liscense. Don't quote me, but wait until hero replies he'll be able to tell you.

You wont find an AK that is worth a damn for less than 299.00
The price of these and the SKS has gone up over the past few years, and they are no longer dirt cheap.
We carry higher end/pimped out AKs that are in the 499-699 range.
These all include updated stocks (black plastic like on a M4) and are either folding stocks, or T-6 stocks (4 position tubes, with a M4 carbine stock)
Most of the "new" AKs being imported are Romianian WASR-10s, which are Romianian built, semi-auto AK47s.

Hey Hero, how hard is it to get your Class 3?

Not impossible; but its quite a bit of work, lots of paperwork, costs, etc.

what a pain in the ass. i dont think id really bother taking it to the range much. shooting guns isnt all that much fun to me. id really just like to own a piece of history, since i feel the ak-47 really has had some say in history. know what i mean hero?

"The Avtomat Kalashnikova Model 1947. A beautiful amalgation of plywood and steel, it'll shoot even when it's filled with sand, water, or mud. It's so simple, a child can use it, and they often do."
