I need some help, lol.
My son will be graduating from basic in January. Having been retired for almost 5 years I am looking forward to throwing my Class A's on for his graduation.
Now I know that I am authorized to wear them and YES they do still fit (I checked):D. But my question has to do with the unit insignia. My beret still has my last unit's flash (20th SFG) and I still have the 20th SFG background behind my parachutist badge.
Do I still wear the flash and wing background or do I take those off?

this looks like a question you should ask one of your sf buddies who is still in. Unless your asking us if we think it's morally alright, in which case I say go for it.

I'm not really up on the retired group and their policies, but I don't know why you couldn't continue to wear your last unit's insignia. I thought you'd be asking a more uniform oriented question though.. in which case, Hyprspec is the resident expert, followed by myself ;)

The rules say that we have to follow 670-1 just like any active duty or reserve soldier. We can wear either the current dress uniform or the uniform that was authorized at the time of our retirement. It just doesn't specify about the unit insignia.
I guess I'll just wear the unit background and flash. I'll be in Drill Sergeant country, so I guess I'll find out quickly if I'm wrong. :D

Well if they do, it's going to look like one of your MMA .gifs. :D
I'm just trying to avoid the embarrassment of rolling in the grass with one of them. :lolth:
