Only person I know that's had experience with AA had a BAD experience with AA. But good luck to you, as you won't be sending your car to them I'm sure.

I had the same kit on my 2.5l z3. I had good and bad experiences with them. Most of the parts were defective and I had a hard time convincing AA that they were defective, but once it was confirmed, they replaced them quickly. Once I had all working stuff, I was VERY happy with the kit.
The guy who's selling it still has it on his car (also an 00 M) and said it dynoed at 302whp (car comes 240 at the crank, so ~210 @ wheels).

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me if he goes for it, although I too have heard some bad stories about AA. Are you gonna do the install yourself?

go vortech or go home. ;)
rms is selling kits WITH aftercooler for 5k now.
vfe is selling their stage 1 kits for 4ish. they would not be my first choice due to the belt system, but still a smokin deal.
AA or vfe is the way to go if you dont plan to upgrade much. if that's what you're lookin for, then by all means, the AA kit would be good. does it have the fmic?

ah well, better to hold onto that money and increase the pot so that you can get what you TRULY want. I'm starting a modding fund for my next car now so that I can drop it off at the shop on DAY 1

Yeah seriously. Make sure you get exactly what you want the first time or you're gonna spend more money trying to make something lesser, better.

302 @ wheels for my car is about where I want to be considering that I only drive it on the weekends, and don't go to the track.

Yea, I'd say 300 whp is good for a rear wheel drive daily driver. Good luck!
