Hey everyone my name is Steve and I drive a 2007 Mustang GT California Special (screen name sort of gives that away). I'm in the Marines, spent my first tour down in NC on Camp Lejeune and am now in MD on Fort Meade. Loving Maryland right now.
About the car- it's a 5 speed manual with a Ford Racing (FRPP) intake, FRPP shorty headers, FRPP x-pipe, FRPP GTA mufflers, FRPP 3.73 gears, FRPP short throw shifter, Steeda underdrive pulleys, and a full Saleen suspension. She makes 302 horsepower and 317 ft/lb of torque at the wheels. I ran 13.8 @ 104mph a few weeks ago at Capital Raceway, but that was with a .66 reaction time. I'm looking for low 13's with a good launch! Got some looks mods too, but hopefully I'll get a picture up soon.

Welcome to the site Steve!
Last time I dragged my car (which has been gone for about 2 years now :( ) I got a similar trap time, speed was a 109 though :)
Have any pics of the ride?

I put one up in my profile, having some issues loading one that will show up on normal posts. Tried an image code and a HTTP, so far not working. How do I go about uploading a picture into either my sig or just to show up by my name?
Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome aboard! Not to be a downer, but reaction time doesn't matter with your 1/4 time and speed. Your time starts when your tires start moving and stops when you cross the 1/4 point.

Good point, your 60 foots are what matter. The lower your 60 foot the better, that's how you can tell if you had a good launch or not.

That's partially right. Your ET starts when your car breaks the beam at the starting line. You can actually stage your car "shallow" by just barely getting into the staging box and literally get a running start at the beams before your ET starts. :crazy_pilot:
That's one trick to getting a good 60' and a good ET.:victory:

Deep staging...that's when the top staging light turns off too, isn't it??

OOppps. Yep, you are right. :girl_wacko: I had my terminology backwards. In deep staging you roll deep into the box and sacrifice ET and reaction times to get to the finish line first.
What I was describing is actually staging "shallow". I'll fix the other post. :nono:

Why thank you Chief...I had always heard the terminology Deep Staging...but never knew about Shallow Staging. Now I know exactly what each one is good for...thanks for the information.

Yea the wife, son, and I are in Patriot Ridge. We probably drive past past you guys all the time!
Thanks for the comments on the 'stang, she's a work in progress- but what car enthusiasts' car isn't? I'm debating on putting more money into it or saving my pennies (or maybe opting for a quick deployment :rolleyes2: ) for the 2011 mustang. There are a lot of rumors circulating in the Mustang world that Ford is putting a new 5.0 in the 2011 GT- obviously to put the Camaro SS in it's place. That would be something.
I came across this website on MustangForums.com where I'm also a member by the same name.

now dodge needs something to blow both of those out of the water...too bad they stopped producing the magnum stateside...nothing like a mustang/camaro owner getting taken by a station wagon! lol
