A couple of days ago, as I am driving off of Fort Drum, an officer doesn't see my front plate because it is in my window and not on my front bumper. He makes a U-turn and pulls me over, right outside of the front gate there at Drum...so everyone coming in and leaving can see (people know my jeep). When he ran my DL he found out (and so did I for the first time), that it was suspended in New York. With that, he handcuffed me, stuck me in the back of his Explorer and took me into the station, processed me and stuck me in the drunk tank without my boots and all! The reason for the suspension is because DMV issued a fee to a fix it ticket that I got in 2007...but I never got the fee notice...even though I took care of the ticket! So, after my supervisor picked me up from jail, I had to go to DMV and pay this ridiculous fee from two years ago! All is well now and I am back driving again...but that doesn't really take away the embarrassment from this morning!!! At least the officer was nice. After I paid the fine, I turned the slip in saying my license was good and they tore up all the paperwork, like it never happened!
